Many members and their dependants are on prescription drugs commonly known as maintenance drugs or long-term medications. These are drugs you may take on a regular basis to treat conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure or diabetes.
Both the RSMC and Urban Collective Agreements could expire as of November 3, 2024. If that were to happen, we would not be guaranteed coverage under our Drug Plan.
Members would then have to pay 100% of the cost of any prescription.
If you or a dependant is on a maintenance drug or long-term medication, consider speaking with your doctor and asking for a prescription so that you can receive a three-month supply of the drug.
Have the prescription filled this month to ensure that you have your necessary medications to take you through a strike or lockout.
While we hope to have a negotiated Collective Agreement, it is always best to prepare.
