On November 12, 2024, Canada Post served the Union with a 72- hour notice of lockout. This notice takes effect as of November 15, 2024, at 8:00 am (EST). The Corporation claims to be committed to reaching negotiated collective agreements, but its actions show otherwise.
Your negotiators are more determined than ever to negotiate collective agreements that provide the solutions we all need and deserve to keep doing the work we love to do. It is time to send CPC a loud and clear message to come to the table with the intention of resolving the issues between the parties.
Now, more than ever, we must stand together and not let the employer’s tactics divide us. Our negotiating committees are working hard to get good collective agreements for both bargaining units. We all deserve safe working conditions, fair wages that that keep pace with the high cost of living, the ability to retire with dignity, and a strong public post office with expanded services for all communities across this country.
The best collective agreements are reached through negotiations. It’s time for Canada Post to come to the bargaining table and resolve both new and longstanding unresolved issues.
We are 55,000 strong, and together we are unstoppable.
In solidarity,
