With Canada Post’s review of Pay increments (Article 35.08) nearing to an end, we have been informed that some members owe Canada Post large sums of money.
CPC will begin to recover the monies owed in the first pay period of 2021, in accordance with Article 35.06 of the collective agreement.
We want to ensure that members are aware that if you find yourself in financial hardship as a result of these overpayments, please contact Canada Post immediately by contacting AccessHR (as per the instructions below), in order to determine if you qualify to make other payment arrangements. Unfortunately, Canada Post is not specific on the necessary qualifications regarding payment arrangements or what they could entail. CPC simply stated that requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
You can contact AccessHR by phone at 1-877-807-9090 or by email (accesshr@canadapost.ca). Please ensure to include a reference to Article 35.08 in your email subject line, so they can review and respond to your request as quickly as possible. We strongly recommend that you document your conversation with AccessHR regarding this (date and time, who you spoke with and the details of your conversation).
If you feel that you have been treated unfairly, that the amounts owed are incorrect, or if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email the undersigned (jgomercich@cupw-sttp.org).
In solidarity,
