The Canada Post Corporation informed the Union today that it would be making changes to its initiative that consists of separating the sortation work from the delivery work on letter carrier routes.
Canada Post has decided to postpone the initiative at Depot C in Ottawa. To resolve its space problem, the Corporation will implement the two wave system instead, whereby letter carriers will share a sortation case.
As for Laval West, the Corporation has decided to go ahead, but has informed the Union that the routers assigned to sortation work would be working on the day shift.
Although the Corporation has temporarily changed its approach, it still intends to go ahead with this initiative in 2018. We will keep you informed of developments as they occur.
In Solidarity,
