Sisters, Brothers and Friends,

The June 13th black t-shirt day in solidarity with the Warford 30 is now a celebration, as today, the 30 members in St. John’s, NL had their 5-day suspensions with final warnings reduced to 1-day waived suspensions.

That means no final warnings on their files and the members will be compensated for all lost wages. As a further victory, the employer also removed the discipline of the member targeted by the Corporation’s campaign of claim suppression. This is a real vindication, as it was this harassment that caused the Warford 30 to exercise their right to complain in the first place.

The employer blinked when faced with the unity of the Warford 30, the hard work of the local executive and shop stewards, and the displays of solidarity from across the country.

The members of the Warford 30, the St. John’s local, and the Atlantic Region want to thank everyone for their support and solidarity.

In Solidarity,

Jeff Callaghan
National Director, Atlantic Region
