2025 Federal Election: Easter Update

What’s at stake 

The April 28 election is happening as we are engaged in a fight for the future of our post office and our jobs. Canada Post is pushing for drastic changes which could lead to job cuts and negatively impact our communities. Canada Post’s sole shareholder is the Government. Who is in government matters. We represent a big voting bloc which could have an impact on election results – particularly in tight races. We can make the future of our public post office an election issue. 

Get involved 

There’s still time to join our “Hands Off My Post Office” campaign to rally public support for our post office. If you are gathering with friends and family for Easter, talk to them about why voting for a strong post office is important. CUPW does not officially endorse any political party. But we can push candidates to commit to a strong public post office with good, stable jobs at Town Halls, debates, candidates' meetings, labour councils – and even on the doorstep!

If you have time to volunteer, many candidates could use your help in the last few days of the election. 

Your vote matters 

This election will be exceptionally close. Please make sure you are registered to vote, know who your candidates are and have a voting plan. You can vote in advance, by mail or in person on election day. For more details and voting deadlines, go to www.elections.ca 

Locals received Go Vote materials! Ask your Local for some. Wear them and share them and remind everyone to vote on April 28. 

We are 55,000 strong and have the power to make our votes count at the polls. Make your voices heard at the ballot box AND VOTE!
