Ebus drivers from Kamloops and Vancouver, who recently joined CUPW, will soon be voting on their first collective agreement. The bargaining committee recently reached a tentative four-year agreement with the employer which provides significant wage increases back dated to when Union certification took place, October 3, 2023.

It also includes retroactive payments between January 1 and October 2, 2023, boot and glove allowances, improved eyeglass benefits, matching RRSP contributions, a consultation process, and language around grievances and arbitration as well as discipline, suspension and discharge that mirror Articles 9 and 10 of the Urban Operations Unit collective agreement.

Ebus is part of the Pacific Western Transit group of companies, the biggest private bus company in Canada. With the exit of Greyhound and the lack of service from Via Rail, Ebus is often the only intercity transportation option for B.C. residents who do not have a vehicle.

We’d like to thank the negotiating committee for their efforts in reaching a tentative agreement that meets the needs of the membership and to thank the members for their support throughout the bargaining process. A vote to ratify the collective agreement will be held shortly and we encourage members to vote in favour of the agreement.

In Solidarity,
