CUPW is pleased to welcome employees of Maintair Aviation Services Ltd. working in New Brunswick. These workers include ground service workers who handle baggage, ramp coordination, and the grooming and cleaning of planes, as well as customer service workers.

These workers face numerous issues including low wages, the lack of health benefits, vacation days, and other types of leave, including sick leave. They want to find solutions and make gains through the collective bargaining process. While Maintair is successful and recording profits, its workers are struggling to make ends meet.

This is the second group of workers from Maintair to join CUPW over the last 10 months. Maintair workers in Thunder Bay recently ratified their first collective agreement.

We look forward to negotiating a good contract for these workers. We are proud to welcome them to the Union and want to let them know that they have the full support of all CUPW.

In solidarity,

Jody Hutton
